Group trips, packages and services

The three kinds of trip, what each is for, and how the kind changes the cards, filters and checklists.

ConceptUpdated

Every trip has a kind. It does not change how seats, prices or payments work; it helps you sort your trips and gives each kind its own checklist.

Kind Use it for How it is created
Group trip A guided departure on fixed dates that you fill with many customers, such as a Georgia autumn tour. Create trip or package, type Group trip.
Package A ready product, often flights and hotel, that small parties buy, such as an Istanbul city break. Create trip or package, type Package.
Service A tailor-made trip for one customer. Made by the system when a custom quotation (one not linked to a trip) becomes a booking. It is published at once and has as many seats as the party.

Where the kind shows

  • On cards: packages and services show their kind before the departure country ("Package, from Bahrain").
  • In the filter: Group trips and Packages. Services show under All.
  • On a published package, the status chip reads Package instead of Published.
  • In Settings → Trip checklists, each template applies to every new trip, or only to group trips, packages or single services. See Build a trip checklist from templates.

Tip

Not sure which to choose? Use Group trip when you need a minimum number of travellers to run it, and Package when each sale stands on its own.
