Change rooms, features and out-of-service rooms
Change the type or features of one room or many at once, and take rooms out of service so they are never sold.
Hotels are rarely exactly like the room mix you started with. Fix single rooms, or many at once, so the building matches the real hotel.
Before you start
- You need permission to manage hotels.
- A room with guests cannot be taken out of service, and cannot change to a type that sleeps fewer people than its guests.
Change one room
- Open the floor and click the room.
- Under Edit room details, choose the Room type and tick the Features (for example Balcony, Corner room, Connecting door, Accessible, Bathtub, Quiet end).
- Press Save room. The message "Room 405 saved" appears.
- To stop selling it, press Mark out of service ("Room 405 is out of service"). Back in service undoes it. A booked room does not offer this.
Change many rooms at once
- Open a floor and press Select rooms.
- Click the rooms, or press Select the whole floor. The bar shows "6 selected"; Clear empties the selection.
- Choose what to change: Room type, Add feature, Remove feature, Out of service or Back in service.
- The message says how many rooms were updated.
After you change rooms
- Out-of-service rooms show in coral, cannot be contracted, and no guest can be placed or moved into them.
- New room types and features are used by the contract window and by automatic assignment.
If something goes wrong
- "Guests are in room 405. Move them before closing." or Guests are in this room. Move them before closing it.: move the guests first.
- "Room 405 has more guests than that room type sleeps. Move them first.", or "A Double sleeps 2. Move the guests first.": choose a bigger type, or move some guests.
- This room is on a contract. Mark it out of service instead.: a room used in a contract cannot be removed.
