Mark a lead as lost
Close a lead that will not book, with the reason, and undo it or reopen the lead later if the customer comes back.
Mark a lead as lost when the customer will not book: the price was too high, the dates did not suit, they booked elsewhere or stopped replying. The board stays clean, and the reasons show the team what to fix.
Before you start
- You need permission to add and move leads.
- Your agency needs lost reasons in Settings → Lists (Lost reasons). A new agency starts with Price too high, Dates did not suit, Booked elsewhere, Stopped replying and Other.
Steps
- Open the lead from the board or the list.
- Press Mark as lost at the bottom of the panel.
- In Why was … lost?, choose a reason.
- If it helps, type a Note, optional, for example "booked with another agency".
- Press Mark as lost.
After you mark it
- The message … marked as lost appears with Undo for a few seconds. Press Undo to put the lead back at once.
- The lead leaves the board. In List view, tick Show lost leads to see it, with Lost and the reason.
- Its panel shows Marked as lost and the reason, and Make a quotation and Stage are hidden.
- The note, if you typed one, is saved in the lead's Notes.
- The lead counts in Lost this month, and its reason counts in the leads reports in Reports.
Reopen a lost lead
- In List view, tick Show lost leads.
- Open the lead.
- Press Reopen.
The message … is back on the board appears. The lead is open again in the stage it was in, and its lost reason is cleared.
If something goes wrong
- Choose a reason: no reason is chosen. Click one of the reasons.
- Add lost reasons in Settings, Lists first.: your agency has no lost reasons. Ask the agency owner to add them in Settings → Lists.
- Mark as lost is missing: your role can only view leads.
