Error messages: connection, forms and general

Messages that can appear on any screen, such as connection problems, form field checks, missing records and addresses, and what to do.

These messages can appear on any screen. Most are short field checks shown under the field that needs a change. A "…" stands for a number, a name or an address that the message fills in.

Connection and the app

Message	What to do
You are offline. We will reconnect as soon as the internet is back.	Your device has no internet. Reconnect; the app picks up by itself.
Reconnecting to the server… your work is kept on this page.	The server cannot be reached for a moment. Wait, or press Try now. What you typed stays on the page.
Failed to fetch / NetworkError / Load failed	The browser could not reach the server. Check the internet connection and try again.
A new version is ready	The system was updated while you worked. Reload the page.
This page is off the map	The address you opened is not a screen of the app. Use the menu, or Back to the start page.
This screen hit turbulence	The screen could not be shown. Your data is safe. Reload the page, or go back and try again.
Something went wrong	An error without details. Try again.
Something went wrong on our side	An unexpected error on the server. Try again shortly; contact support if it repeats.
We are busy for a moment. Nothing was saved, please try again.	The system was busy and saved nothing. Do the same action again.
Too many tries in a short time. Wait a little, then try again.	Too many requests in a short time, for example many sign-in attempts in a minute. Wait a little.
Rate limit exceeded / Too many requests	The same limit, in its short form. Wait a little, then try again.
Cross-site request refused	The request came from another website. Open the app at its own address.
Send JSON	The request was sent in a form the server does not accept. Refresh the page and try again.

Form fields

Message	What to do
Some fields need attention	One or more fields are not valid. Each one is highlighted with its own message; fix them and save again.
Required	This field must be filled.
String must contain at least 1 character(s)	The field is empty. Fill it.
String must contain at least … character(s)	The text is too short. Type more.
String must contain at most … character(s)	The text is too long. Shorten it.
String must contain exactly … character(s)	The text must have exactly that length, for example a three-letter code.
Expected number, received string	The field takes a number. Type a number.
Expected integer, received float	The field takes a whole number. Remove the decimals.
Number must be greater than …	The number is too small.
Number must be greater than or equal to …	The number is below the minimum.
Number must be less than …	The number is too big.
Number must be less than or equal to …	The number is above the maximum.
Expected boolean	The field takes yes or no. Choose one.
Expected string / array / object	The value has the wrong form. Refresh the page and try again.
Array must contain at least … element(s)	Add more items to the list.
Array must contain at most … element(s)	Remove some items from the list.
Invalid date	Pick a date from the calendar.
Invalid email	Correct the email address.
Invalid url	Correct the web address.
Invalid enum value / Invalid option	Pick a value from the list.
Invalid input	The value is not valid. Check it.
Some values in the request are not valid	A value is of the wrong kind or too long. Check the values, refresh and try again.
This file is too large.	Upload a smaller file.

Records

Message	What to do
Record not found	The record was deleted meanwhile. Refresh the page.
Not found	The address does not exist. Refresh the app.
This already exists	A value that must be unique is already used. Use another value.
Cost not found	The supplier cost was deleted. Refresh the page.

Web addresses in connections

Message	What to do
The … must start with https://	Addresses for gateways, SMS, storage, rates and mail must be secure. Use an address that starts with `https://`.
The … is not a valid web address	The address is incomplete or mistyped. Type the full address, starting with `https://`.
The … could not be found (…)	The host name does not exist. Check its spelling.
The … must be a public internet address	The address points to a private or local network. Use the provider's public address.

Exchange rates

Message	What to do
Enter a rate above zero	A rate must be above zero (and below 100,000,000). Enter a valid rate.
Use a date like 2026-10-18	The date the rate starts is not valid. Pick a date.
Exchange rate not found	The future rate was already removed. Refresh Currencies.
Only rates for a future day can be removed. Enter a new rate to correct one already in use.	A rate already in force stays in the history. Enter a new rate to correct it.
Could not reach the rates source (…)	The automatic rates source did not answer. Check the rates address in Settings → Currencies, or try later.
The rates address must start with https://	Use a rates source address that starts with `https://`.
The source returned rates for …, not …	The rates source answers in another base currency. Use a source address that includes `{BASE}`, so it returns rates for your main currency.

Supplier costs and payments

Message	What to do
Enter an amount	The supplier payment is zero. Enter an amount.
That is more than is still owed (…)	The supplier payment is more than you owe. Pay at most the amount still owed.
Money back cannot be more than was paid	The money back from the supplier is more than you paid. Enter a smaller amount.
The amount is less than what was already paid	You lowered a cost below what you already paid. Record the money back first, or keep the amount.
The amount paid is more than the cost	The paid total is above the cost. Enter at most the cost amount.
The VAT is more than the amount	The VAT included is above the cost amount. Correct the VAT.

Customer tax details on invoices

Message	What to do
Only companies have a VAT number here. Choose "Company".	A person cannot have a VAT number. Set the customer as a company.
VAT number: …	The VAT number does not match the format of the address country. Correct the number or the country.
Commercial registration: …	The commercial registration does not match the country's format. Correct it.
Building number: 4 digits	A Saudi building number has exactly 4 digits. Correct it.
Choose what kind of id this is	You typed an id number without its type. Pick the id type.
Enter the id number	You chose an id type without the number. Type the number.

Message	What to do
There is no phone number or email to send to	The customer has no mobile or email for this message. Add the contact details in the customer's file.
An account with this email already exists	Someone already signed up with this email. Sign in instead, or use another email.
