Give a branch its own payment account
Let a branch take online payments into its own gateway account and currency, for example a Bahrain branch on BENEFIT and a Saudi branch on Tap.
By default every branch takes online payments through the agency's gateway. A branch in another country can use its own merchant account instead, in its own currency. Payment links, payment pages and refunds of a booking then use the account of the booking's branch.
Before you start
- Your role must allow changing settings.
- The agency has two or more branches (Add a branch). With one branch the section does not show.
- The branch's merchant account details from its gateway (test keys first, then live keys).
Steps
- Open Settings → Connections and scroll to Payment accounts per branch.
- Find the branch. Its chip shows the gateway it uses now, for example Agency account: Tap.
- Press Give it its own account. A card Online payments: … with the branch name opens under it.
- Turn on the card's switch, choose the Provider, set the Mode and fill in the details, as in Connect a payment gateway.
- Press Save. The message Online payments connection saved appears.
- Press Test connection and wait for It works.
- Check the branch's chip: it now shows Own account: … with the gateway.
After you give it its own account
- Payment links, deposit links, payment pages and refunds of bookings in this branch use the branch's gateway and its currency. Customers see the branch's gateway on the payment page.
- Other branches keep using the agency's gateway.
- The webhook address is the same for every account, so the one already in the gateway dashboard works.
- To change the details later, press Edit on the branch.
Go back to the agency account
- Press Use the agency account on the branch.
- Read the question … back to the agency account? and press Use the agency account.
The message The branch uses the agency account appears. Its payment links use the agency's gateway from now on. Payments already taken stay refundable from their gateway's dashboard.
Note
Switching the branch's card off keeps its details but makes the branch use the agency's gateway, the same as Use the agency account without deleting anything.
If something goes wrong
- Turn the branch’s own account on and save it first. when you press Test connection: turn on the card's switch and press Save.
- This branch uses the agency’s payment account. Test it there. The branch has no account of its own yet: test the agency's Online payments card instead.
- Other test messages are explained in Connect a payment gateway.
