Hotels and rooms: common questions
Answers about floors and room limits, changing a built hotel, room types, moving guests, release dates and what customers see.
How big can a hotel be?
In the form, up to 40 floors with rooms and up to 12 rooms on each side (24 per floor).
Can I change the number of floors after adding the hotel?
No. Floors and room counts are fixed once the hotel is built. Change single rooms by clicking them: their type, features, or out of service. If the building is very different, add the hotel again and delete or archive the old one.
Where does "sleeps 3" come from?
From the room type's capacity in Settings → Lists → room types. A type without a capacity sleeps 2.
Are unsold rooms given back to the hotel on the release date?
Yes, unless your agency turned it off. On the release date, the rooms nobody booked leave the contract by themselves; rooms with guests or on hold stay. A contract made on or after its release date keeps its rooms. Before that, the contract warns you ("In 3 days, 4 unsold"). When Settings → Preferences → Hand unsold rooms back automatically is off, the release date is only a reminder and you give rooms back yourself. Either way, tell the hotel. Can I move guests to another hotel or another trip?
Not by dragging. Guests can only move within the same stay: the same trip, check-in and check-out. When the trip has rooms at two hotels, open the guests' room and press Take guests out of this room, then open a free room of the other hotel and press Put a booking in this room. A booking cannot take rooms of another trip.
Why is a hotel missing from the list?
It may be archived: a hotel deleted while it had contracts is kept for your records. Press Archived · 1 to show it, then Restore.
Does the customer see the room number?
Yes. Once a room is given, the customer's trip page shows the hotel, the room number, the floor, the room type and the guest names. Before that it shows Names coming soon.
Does the system send the rooming list to the hotel?
No. Download it, send it yourself, then press Mark as sent to the hotel. See Export and send the rooming list.
