I cannot sell seats on a trip
The trip is missing from New booking, or New booking is greyed out on the trip page. Check these causes in order.
Why it happens
A trip can be sold only when it is published, leaves in the future and has seats left. Held seats count as taken until their time runs out.
What to do
- Check the status. On the trip page, a Draft needs Publish; Closed for sale needs More actions → Reopen sales. The tip on New booking says Publish the trip to sell it.
- Check the seats. The tip No seats left means every seat is sold or on hold. Look at the Seats card: amber seats are On hold. Press Release holds if the hold is no longer needed, or raise Seats for sale with Edit.
- Check the dates. A trip that has already left or come back cannot be sold. It moves to Completed after its return date. A completed or cancelled trip cannot be published again: use Duplicate to a new date.
- Check the price. A trip without any price cannot be published: you see Set a price before publishing.
- Check your role. New booking needs permission to create bookings. If your role is limited to some branches, you only see the trips of your branches and the trips without a branch.
- Online bookings only: the trip must also be On request or Instant in Settings → Customer portal and loyalty. See Let customers book a trip online.
